Products from our own farm
"I do not know if I'll live to see another day, if I'll see the morning light, but I thank God, when I lift a glass, then I know I'm living right."
Vineyards could be found here at the Tschötscherhof more than a century ago. Indeed, the name for this area, "Weingertacker," bears testimony to this fact. The more than 100-year-old grapevine in front of the building is further evidence of this. Despite the extraordinary altitude of 750 meters above sea-level, thanks to the southwest exposure of the slope and the especially mild climatic conditions in St. Oswald in Seis am Schlern, the grapes grown here display excellent quality.
Here on the farmstead, we cultivate two white wine grapes and two red wine grapes. Andreas Jaider is a trained vintner and has already won some awards.
Besides cultivating our own grapes for the production of wine, we also grow a wide range of agricultural products the whole year around: Various different kinds of fruits and vegetables, asparagus, herbs, and lettuces in our own garden. Further, we have approx. 20 dairy cows and produce our own meat, vinegar, jams, and juices here at the Tschötscherhof.
